A foundation for ballet, young dancers and the memory of Anna Pavlova
The Anna Pavlova Foundation was founded in The Hague in 2015. All its activities are non-profit: it brings classical ballet within reach of a wide audience and gives young dancers a stage.
The Foundation’s aims
The Foundation runs cultural and educational projects that bring ballet to a wide audience. It does so in six ways:
Ballet performances for children and families
Full ballets such as The Nutcracker and Snow White, danced by young students in The Hague and Leiden.
The memory of Anna Pavlova in The Hague
A virtual museum, and the wish for a monument in the city where she died.
The Academy of Classical Russian Ballet
Developing the Academy and its teaching method for children.
The Anna Pavlova International Ballet Competition
A stage where young talents from different countries meet.
Festivals, concerts, exhibitions and masterclasses
Cultural activities around ballet, including free charity concerts in care homes.
Scholarships for young dancers
Monthly scholarships for talented students, and the chance to dance in real performances.
