A well-known fairy tale with a surprising twist
The story of the three little pigs is of course known to everyone. But the choreographer Vladislav Kuramshin and Tatiana Petrova, author of the idea and the libretto, decided that the three little pigs living in the wood should have a cheerful forest company. The ballet is funny and colourful, with an unusual development of the familiar plot: it is about three piglet brothers and a grey wolf.
The story of the ballet
The children are bored in the yard. Suddenly they come up with the idea of playing the fairy tale of the three little pigs, which everyone knows. The children assign the roles and the game begins. The pigs build their houses, each as well as he can. Naf-Naf, the eldest brother, has a nice house. The inhabitants of the magical forest come to visit: the duck, the squirrel, the deer, the frog, the swallow and others.
But a grey wolf also lives in the forest, and he dreams of eating the three little pigs… Whether he succeeds we will see together. Perhaps the wolf is not so bad and scary after all.
Music, costumes and tours
The ballet is set to music by West European composers in a modern arrangement. Bright, original costumes and scenery create the atmosphere of a fantastic children’s party on stage. With great success the performance has been shown on tour in Croatia (Split, Supetar, Trogir) and Latvia (Riga).
Stars of tomorrow
The premiere took place in 2005 in St Petersburg. The roles were danced by children who later became soloists and principal dancers at the Mariinsky and Bolshoi theatres: Ksenia Zhiganshina, Nikita Vronsky, Regina Strokina, Polina Mitryashina, Lada Sartakova and others. Come and see the ballet stars of the future.
